Attendance Protocols
Your child’s attendance plays a critical role in their educational success. If a student is frequently absent, arrives late, or leaves early, the school will make personal contact with the home.
Please be aware that New York State law requires all student absences to be documented with a written note or an email from a parent or guardian.
If your child is absent due to illness or another reason, the Attendance Office must be notified. For absences lasting more than three consecutive days, we kindly request a note from a doctor.
You may notify the school of an absence by phone, email, or a written note upon the student’s return. Please include the student’s full name, teacher’s name, and the reason for the absence in your message.
We ask all parents to notify the school by 9 AM by calling (845) 691-1074 or sending an email if their child will be absent.
If a child is to be excused earlier than the regular dismissal time, a note or email should be sent to the teacher and Attendance Office in the morning. Upon arrival at school, the parent should report to the Attendance Office to pick up their child.
*Children will not be dismissed to anyone other than the legal parent(s) or guardian(s) unless the school has been notified.
PLEASE MAKE SURE TO HAVE YOUR PICTURE ID WITH YOU.
